Alabama AER Conference – Planning Underway

The Alabama Chapter of the Association for Education and Rehabilitation of the Blind and Visually Impaired (AER) is currently planning its upcoming statewide conference. This event is designed to bring together professionals, educators, service providers, students, families, and community partners who are committed to improving outcomes for individuals who are blind, visually impaired, or have multiple disabilities.

Purpose
The conference serves as a platform to strengthen professional practice, promote collaboration across disciplines, and highlight innovative approaches that support independence, access, and quality of life for individuals with vision loss. Through shared learning and dialogue, the conference aims to advance services, build connections, and support a stronger statewide network of professionals.

Opportunities
Attendees can expect opportunities for professional learning, skill development, and meaningful networking. Sessions will focus on current trends, evidence-based practices, emerging technology, and strategies that support individuals across the lifespan. The conference will also provide space for resource sharing, peer discussion, and cross-agency collaboration.

Additional details — including the conference theme, dates, location, call for proposals, and registration information — will be shared once they are finalized. Please check back for updates. We look forward to bringing Alabama’s vision professionals together for this important event.
